I always find it odd when a brand chooses a sticker-labelled can over printing on the aluminium itself. It tends to be what marketing companies do for promotional cans for businesses who are giving them away at trade shows, so when you see them on the shelves of shops then they look a bit odd. But still, a black can with a mostly black label looks quite smart – the matt effect of the label does give the drink a premium look. It’s a blue raspberry flavoured drink too which is nice, but not stand-out amazing. It’s certainly better than your average clone though.

A bit boring really, it was just a normal berry flavoured drink. Quite a strong flavour, a bit sickly, but nothing special at all.
When I saw “Candy Soda” flavour I was very intrigued. I thought it might be a bit like bubblegum or dolly mixtures or something, but I was sadly a bit disappointed. The taste was like fake mixed fruit and was quite sickly to drink.
What is The Matrix? Disappointing, Neo, disappointing. Yes itโs in an interestingly shaped bottle containing 700ml, but my bottle at least was almost flat. There was a fizz when I opened the bottle, and a few bubbles in the drink, but it tastes totally flat. Maybe this was an unfortunate one off, but the taste was still a clone, and a cheap tasting one at that.
Usually when I review a cherry flavoured energy drink I declare that it tastes like one of those sherbet double-dip sweet’s cherry flavoured powder, but not this time! It’s quite a different take on the cherry flavouring I’m used to. Don’t get me wrong, it is still recognisably cherry but it’s tangy probably more grown-up. I may even actually prefer it to the ultra synthetic cherry drinks I usually find.

Amazing! There we go, review over ๐ Super-refreshing and really nice, not too sweet, but perfectly fruity. A large, low-calorie energy drink from one of the premium brands, this is possibly one of my favourites of theirs (nothing is likely to ever beat their lemon flavour!).

This drink has quite a strong flavour to it, like a strongly mixed summer fruits squash drink. There’s a very slight bitterness to it if you pay close attention to your tastebuds, like there might be pomegranate juice in there too, but mostly it’s a mixture of blackcurrant and other sweet berries (I’d like to say raspberry too, but I’m just guessing as there’s no specific clue on the can or stand-out taste). Watch out for the caffeine content, it’s very high!

I never really look forward to trying peach flavoured drinks, I find them to be bitter and not that nice. But, this Relentless one wasn’t quite as bad as I was expecting. Don’t get me wrong, I’d rather not have a peach flavoured drink, but this one was tolerable. Quite sweet, a bit tropical, sickly aftertaste, but tolerable!

The can blurb proclaims that the original Monster with juice was released in 2005. Now I don’t recall that product around that time, and I certainly haven’t ever reviewed it on this site, so unfortunately I have no baseline to compare this new “lightened up flavour” rebooted version against. What I will say is that it’s overwhelmingly orange and zesty. It definitely tastes like a Monster drink, and the ingredients include apple, orange, peach, tangerine, grape and pineapple juice, but to me the flavour is orange. It’s a really nice orange drink too so if this is a lighter version of the original then that was probably a decent drink too!
