I purchased this from Lidl at the same time as I purchased Kong Strong, and given that the old Lidl energy drink brand was called Mixxed Up I expected them both to taste more or less the same as that and therefore each other. They were quite different though – compared to Kong Strong, this drink is more tart and sour, and quite difficult to drink in such a large quantity. I struggled through it with my teeth and tongue feeling fuzzy and coated afterwards… if you have the choice, don’t choose this one.
Not just strong, but KONG STRONG! I assume this drink is branded to take advantage of the recent Kong movie. Taste-wise it was ok, very sweet and pleasant to drink. I have a feeling though that’s it’s just a rebranded version of their Mixxxxxxxxxed Up drink of days gone by.
Once again, purchased just for the name! It’s a clone, but one with amusing packaging 🙂 Only available in Canada!
It’s a clone! If I’d purchased this in the UK I’d have expected to find it in a budget shop costing only a few pence, but as I purchased this in Vancouver it cost a fortune! It’s really quite strong and sugary, and sparked me into life very quickly, but given its competition of the bigger brands it just doesn’t compare on taste.
A large can of clone-style energy drink. Nothing particularly special about it, but it’s sweet, not too sour or sharp, but definitely budget.
WHOOP! It’s the 400th energy drink to be reviewed on this site! Sadly, it’s not a special drink though. With a name like Volcaz and discovered in the Polish (as in the country, not the cleaning product) aisle of Tesco, this drink seems to have been made in Hungary. It’s just a clone, but a nice and sweet one with no bitter aftertaste.
Sadly this is just a massive can of generic tasting energy drink. It’s sweet and slightly bitter, and quite difficult to finish because of that. Gives you a big sugar punch but that’s all.
Relentless energy drinks have had a bit of a design overhaul recently. Gone is the gothic-style line art graphics on the can, and in are loud and bold colours. With that rebranding has come the new Relentless Zero, which is effectively a renamed version of their awkwardly named Relentless Origin Ultra (maybe because it’s easier to understand a ‘zero’ drink will be low calories instead of the wholly non-descriptive ‘ultra’ moniker they used previously. The drink is the same as before so far as I can tell – slightly watery but no strange brewed taste.

Apparently this can design is the winner of the can design awards. It’s okay I guess, but I wish they’d spent a little more effort on the contents. It’s nice, but just another sweet clone.
