Pit Bull Cherry and Lime
July 3rd, 2013I’m really not convinced on the combination of cherry and lime in this drink. The cherry flavour comes through, but it someone severely soured by the lime making it quite a bitter experience. Having tried the original Pit Bull, I could sense a theme as the underlying taste of the original was evident in this drink too, however I don’think it works as a mixer with other ingredients. Still, there are other Pit Bull cocktails to try and they could turn out to be wonderful so I shall withhold my judgement on this brand until then. Personally, I won’t be trying this again because there are many more nicer tasting drinks out there.

Lucozade Energy Cherry
November 23rd, 2011I was very surprised when I drank this – going by the track record of previous Lucozade Energy products, I expected this one to also involve a subtle flavour. I was very wrong, it’s about as in-your-face cherry flavoured as you can get. It wasn’t a great cherry flavour either – far too strong and sickly. If Lucozade had carried on with their subtle flavouring techniques then this drink may have worked. As usual for Lucozade, high in calories, low in caffeine so sadly low marks all-round.

Rip It – F Bomb
October 26th, 2011I love this flavour! The front of the can shows a picture of cherries, blueberries, a pineapple, and some other indistinguishable fruits, but the overall flavour that comes through is the cherry. It’s not a natural cherry flavour by any means and is very reminiscent of double-dips in the same way that the Cougar Lifestyle Shot is. The higher than average caffeine content plus the huge can size make this very awakeness inducing and that strength along with my high scores on taste will probably push this drink near the top of the ratings chart for a long time to come.

Mountain Dew Code Red
August 6th, 2011The final of my Americandy purchases, Code Red is a cherry flavoured spin-off from Mountain Dew. This time the colour is red of course. It’s not as nice as Voltage or the original, but still quite nice and I’m glad I managed to get hold of it. It’s certainly a flavour with top marks for originality as there’s nothing else out there like it.
