Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy Mixed Berry
August 19th, 2023A bit disappointing really, it’s just a boring mixed berry drink. I don’t know why I’m surprised at being disappointed with it seeing as it does clearly state “mixed berry” on the can. I think because it was on sale for £1 per can making this potentially a premium priced drink even at that reduced level I was expecting a bit more from it. It has higher than average caffeine content and a ton of informative nutritional information plastered across the can, but it just didn’t taste as unique as I’d hoped.

Virtue Clean Energy Berries
July 29th, 2023Really sharp, bitter and healthy tasting… not exactly what I look for personally in an energy drink. If you drink it super cold straight from the fridge then it’s acceptable but as it warms up it leaves a bit of a strange aftertaste. Not to my liking really.

Protein Dynamix Mixed Berry

It’s Time Energy Original
January 21st, 2023I don’t care how many MMA stars are plastered on the can to intimidate me into liking this… I didn’t! This is a red berry flavoured drink, and has an extremely odd combination of being both very sweet whilst also dry and tart at the same time. A few sips of this had me wanting to scare my tongue clean, I’ve no idea how they managed that. Perhaps it’s the wolfberry extract, I’m not sure. This drink includes the now obligatory sugar-free-ness (which is a bonus in my opinion), BCAAs, B vitamins, and caffeine from green coffee beans. It’s also really caffeine-potent at 61mg/100ml in the 330ml can so keep that in mind! I only paid 20p for the can, so that should also be taken into consideration here I guess! Still, full marks for originality.
Sparkling Ice + Caffeine: Mixed Berry
August 20th, 2022Normally when I see a flavoured water style energy drink I expect quite a watered down experience with not much flavour. Maybe it was because it was the hottest day so far of 2022 when I tried this, but I found it to be a perfect balance of flavour, sweetness and refreshingness (is that a word??).

Grenade Energy Berried Alive
June 4th, 2022This drink has quite a strong flavour to it, like a strongly mixed summer fruits squash drink. There’s a very slight bitterness to it if you pay close attention to your tastebuds, like there might be pomegranate juice in there too, but mostly it’s a mixture of blackcurrant and other sweet berries (I’d like to say raspberry too, but I’m just guessing as there’s no specific clue on the can or stand-out taste). Watch out for the caffeine content, it’s very high!

USN Power Punch Berry
August 21st, 2021A bit of a disappointment really. It was a very generic ‘berry’ flavour, but I’d say it was predominantly blackcurrant. Low in calories but due to the large can size you got quite a caffeine hit. Quite sickly to drink the final third of the can though!
NOCCO Red Berries
August 15th, 2020I first discovered NOCCO at a 7Eleven whilst on holiday in Sweden. Being Sweden, it was a very expensive purchase. Then, a few days later I found myself in Norway and discovered NOCCO was even more expensive there! Anyway… I saw NOCCO being sold in Morrisons in the UK and it was considerably cheaper. This red berries flavour was quite bitter, but not as unpleasant as I had expected. After a few sips I had accustomed myself to the bitterness and started to enjoy it. An interesting line of drinks if you can find them. Oh yes, and they have a lot of caffeine in them.
