Yup, the same as the non-sugar-free version really. Sweet, slightly tangy, and quite close to Monster in its flavour really.

I had to look up what Ramonade might be. Turns out the Ram part is rambutan which is a type of tropical fruit, but the main flavour I could taste was apple. It’s basically an extremely caffeine-potent apple flavoured energy drink. I’m always nervous about trying a can of Nocco because I know I’m not going to sleep well that night! But, if you need an extremely strong pick-up then this’ll do the trick.

It’s been so long since I tried Lidl’s Kong Strong so I honestly can’t tell if this large can ‘Colossus’ drink is actually the same as the the smaller can, I think I’ll have to go and get one of those to compare. Anyway, this drink reminds me of the early days of energy drink clones… it’s sweet, slightly tangy, and quite different to Red Bull. I’d say it’s quite close to Monster Energy actually, very, very close in flavour!
It’s a bedazzlingly gold can which sadly doesn’t give off the premium vibe that I think it was trying to go for. Rather, it looks more like the one-off budget brands you pick up in the pound stores which are trying to be shiny and bright to grab your attention. As drinks go, it’s not bad though – a very sweet tropical flavoured one that’s not too sickly even in this 500ml large can.
I’m still not that keen on apple-flavoured drinks. I guess this one isn’t too bad, but it is quite sickly after a while. It’s basically fizzy apple squash, I’m not sure what the ‘candy’ part is, perhaps that’s just marketing. On the other hand, it’s pretty potent for caffeine so it’ll definitely wake you up!

The fragrant taste of the world’s finest juiced unicorns combined with a spectral blast of rainbows. Maybe. Well, there’s no actual clue on the can as to what flavour this drink really is so I’m going to have to make a guess. I think that it’s strawberry, but with a twist of vanilla. Please contact me if you know differently!

Quite often the combo of lime and strawberry in a drink can be slightly too sour, but Battery have got the mix just right. All this drink needs now is a glass full of crushed ice and a couple of shots of rum to make it the perfect strawberry daiquiri.

Discovered in a supermarket in Norway, I picked this one because I initially thought you perhaps pronounced the name TRST in the same way an Irish person might pronounce ‘thirst’. But, it looks like it’s just a stylised anomaly because the actual drink’s name is TØRST (you can see the Ø hidden behind the TRST on the logo). I’m not sure if this is a special edition flavour called Festival Energi Utopia, or if it’s just affiliated with a festival named ‘Utopia’ for promotional reasons, but it’s not really a special flavour. I’m putting this down as a clone as it tastes like a regular own-brand drink. If I had to describe the taste I would say that there are notes of aniseed with a slight tang of burnt caramel. It’s very nice, don’t get me wrong, but it doesn’t have a stand-out unique flavour.
This was gifted to me by a family member from Germany. I’m reliably informed that “this is what all of the computer geeks drink in Germany”… so the look of the drink is very similar to Red Bull or any other caramel-coloured energy drink really. When you pour it out of the bottle it froths up, like beer does, and it has a head that hangs around for quite a while! For me though the taste wasn’t great. I found it quite bitter and, well, basically it’s a fizzy cup of cold tea. If you aren’t in to the sweetness of energy drinks then this might be a great alternative for you.
