Regular readers will know that I’m not a fan of apple flavoured drinks. Even combined with melon didn’t improve it for me. It wasn’t too strong or artificial though, but be warned that this drink packs a punch in terms of caffeine. Not only does it have a high 55mg/100ml content, it’s also a slightly larger can than normal at 330ml which means there’s 181.5mg of caffeine in this can compared to the 80mg in a regular 250ml can. So be careful, assume you are drinking more than two cans when you consume this!

I’ve tagged this as a clone, but it’s sort of not. Whilst there is that expected taste that’s very similar to Krating Dung (if you remember that one), it’s a nice energy drink that’s very fruity and sweet. Considering this is a low calorie drink you’d struggle to know that as it tastes like it’s packed full of sugar.

The second Braw flavour I’ve discovered. Like the Blue Raspberry one, the can is glossy black with a paper label stuck to it – quite smart but unusual. Flavour-wise it doesn’t kick you in the face, but the artificial cherry is quite nice and balanced just right. A pretty good drink for the budget price I paid (89p I think).

Apologies for the delay on this one, I picked up each of the Virtue flavours from Gloucester services, drank them, forgot to make notes, and then completely forgot what they tasted like. I actually found the tropical flavour again in Asda so have tried it out again just to bring you this review! Right then, the tropical flavour is quite sharp, refreshing, but sharp and not smooth. The drink is sweetened with stevia, and uses green coffee bean extract for its caffeine punch. It’s trying to be a responsible brand with an unspecified donation from each can being made to an unspecified “conservation of plants, animals and natural communities in the rainforest”. I’d like to have seen more elaboration and specifics on the can about that but I guess I can go and research!

First there was Prime, the expensive coconut water drink prized by every 12-year-old in the country. Now there’s Prime Energy Drink and it’s less in demand mainly because the shops won’t sell it to them 🙂 I love lemon and lime drinks, so I thought I’d start by trying the Lemon Lime Prime Energy. It’s a very strong flavour, no watering this down at all. That does make it quite sickly to drink sadly and extremely sweet despite the lack of sugar in it. It’s an ok energy drink packing plenty of caffeine, and the branding is certainly premium. At £2 per can it’s priced as a premium drink of course, but I have paid a lot more for considerably worse tasting drinks! Bingo bingo…

I know that strawberry and lime is a popular combination now, but I’m not sure I get it. I love lime. I love strawberry. But, together? It’s not unpleasant but you end up with it tasting of neither, just a mush of strawberry lime hints in a general fruity drink. Look, the drink is ok, it’s refreshing, but I’m just not sure that strawberry and lime is up there with the killer combos of tomato and basil, or chocolate and orange. Not that you’d want either of those from an energy drink of course.

It’s just a really sugary tasting tropical energy drink. Loads of it, gives you quite a fruity rush I guess and it’s not bad tasting, but it really isn’t anything special.

Wow, there’s a lot of caffeine in this drink! It kept me awake perfectly while on holiday exploring the busy sights of New York. Cherry Blade Lemonade. I get cherry. I get Lemonade. I don’t get blade… not sure what that is all about really. I was a bit disappointed with the flavour to be honest because I was expecting a citrus drink with a slight tang of cherry. It was quite synthetic in my opinion… packed a punch though.
I found this at Heathrow airport so obviously paid a premium for it. Yeah, it was ok – the apple was sharp and because of that you need to make sure it’s ice cold or it gets a bit sickly to drink. Not as nice as the original Hell energy drink.
