Cherry! In fact I drank this can the day after I tried Prime Energy Tropical and I’d have to say it’s exactly the same flavour. It’s a sweet and strong synthetic cherry flavoured drink. There’s a lot of it, and I chilled it again half-way through just to keep it at optimal drinking temperature, but I enjoyed it.

This isn’t what I’d call a usual tropical flavour at all, to me it tastes a lot more like fizzy cherry. Perhaps it’s the red can making me think that, but I’m not getting any of the usual passionfruit or mango notes at all, just slightly sour cherry. That’s nice, that’s for certain – it still has the now typical strong Prime Energy flavour profile that’s common to most of the variations, and it does get sickly for the second half of the can, but it’s nice enough.

I found this being sold at what looked like an American import pop-up shop in Cardiff and grabbed both flavours on offer. However, on closer inspection of the can whilst this is an American brand, it’s actually made in the UK for distribution here! It looks like the flavours available here in the UK are a little different to those in the US – this one is called Citrus Mist but according to their web site it’s called Citrus Dew in the US. Anyway, it’s really nice! A gentle and very refreshing lemon flavour in a large can, and it doesn’t tire the senses by getting too sickly. The balance of quantity and flavour is perfect and they’ve managed to create one of my favourite energy drinks in a while. It’s really in contrast to the strong, punchy and sickly flavours of the Prime Energy drinks that I’m also trying at the moment!

This surprised me. I was expecting a super-strong-kick-me-in-the-face-flavour like the other Prime Energy drinks, however the blue raspberry, whilst very sweet and sickly, wasn’t massively strong. It’s not quite as refreshing as I’d hoped, but it’s nice and tastes just like most other blue raspberry drinks really.

A bit disappointing really, it’s just a boring mixed berry drink. I don’t know why I’m surprised at being disappointed with it seeing as it does clearly state “mixed berry” on the can. I think because it was on sale for £1 per can making this potentially a premium priced drink even at that reduced level I was expecting a bit more from it. It has higher than average caffeine content and a ton of informative nutritional information plastered across the can, but it just didn’t taste as unique as I’d hoped.

Once again Prime Energy like the stronger flavours in their drinks. This is a super-sweet orange flavoured drink, I didn’t really detect much mango in there but possibly it’s being lost in the overall strength of the drink’s powerful flavour. I found it quite sickly to drink personally, and not that refreshing. The can design and branding is premium though with the glossy black top and bold colouring.

I think they’ve flavoured it with strawberry, difficult to tell but it’s really nice whatever it is. Low calorie but when served ice cold it’s very refreshing and a perfect drink for the summer.

Really sharp, bitter and healthy tasting… not exactly what I look for personally in an energy drink. If you drink it super cold straight from the fridge then it’s acceptable but as it warms up it leaves a bit of a strange aftertaste. Not to my liking really.

Quite a refreshing addition to the Red Bull lineup for summer 2023. Juneberry. I’ve no idea what it actually is, but to describe the flavour it’s a bit like blueberry, blue raspberry and generic berries all mixed together. It’s very sweet and great for the summer. Shame it’s rammed full of sugar but you can’t have everything!
