Monster Reserve: White Pineapple
June 22nd, 2024I’m not usually a fan of pineapple. Don’t get me wrong, I love the flavour it adds to the lemon chicken sauce at my local Chinese takeaway, but on its own as a single flavour I’m not that keen. But… Monster have taken just the sweet top-notes of pineapple flavouring for their White Pineapple drink. This drink is sweet and smooth with no tangy or bitter taste at all. The description says it’s “white pineapple” also known as “sugarloaf”, so perhaps it’s this particular type of pineapple which gives it this smooth flavour rather than the regular varieties I’ve tried as actual fruit? I don’t know, I’m not a pineapple expert. Anyway… really worth a try if you can find a can of this.
Let’s Get Ready To Rumble Sugar Free
June 15th, 2024In a surprise twist the sugar free version of this drink tastes totally different to the full fat version! It’s still quite watery, but instead of the tangy caramel, it’s a more subtle fruity flavour. Sweet, but no dodgy aftertaste and very drinkable.

Let’s Get Ready To Rumble
June 8th, 2024Helping Michael Buffer (famed ring announcer) earn a bit more cash from his famous catchphrase, Let’s Get Ready To Rumble Energy is a licensed product which is sadly nothing more than a cloned energy drink underneath. The flavour is watery with notes of caramel. Perfectly nice to drink but it’s the same as many other promotionally branded drinks. In fact it’s made by RBM who also manufacture Furocity.

June 1st, 2024Breezeberry??? Nope, BLUE RASPBERRY… please, Alani, put the actual real flavours on the can somewhere! I’d have still bought it, but your mysteriousness is just annoying. Yeah, it’s nice, it’s very sweet and it’s packed full of caffeine.

Alani Nu Cosmic Stardust
May 25th, 2024You’ve got to love the marketing people for not actually telling you what the drink flavours really are… Cosmic Stardust???? Nope, it’s grape flavour! I do love grape soda so for me this is lovely, but I know a lot of people find grape drinks too sickly which I get. Anyway, loads of caffeine in this one, no sugar, so a decent fake-energy kick without as much tooth-rot 🙂

May 18th, 2024What would an energy drink taste like if Kim Kardashian decided to make one. Well, that answer is ‘pink’ apparently. The can itself doesn’t say what the flavour actually is but looking on Alani’s web site it reckons it’s lemon and strawberry. Yeah, pink lemonade. It doesn’t taste like normal pink lemonade that I’m used to, I’d say it’s far more on the strawberry side than lemon. It’s nice, but quite sickly!

May 11th, 2024It’s the “health” brand of Monster back again with a new tropical-style drink flavoured with mango. Yeah, it’s a large can, tastes of mango, gives you a big hit of caffeine. Sadly nothing more special than that though – a premium prices tropical energy drink.

Body Fuel Lemonade
April 27th, 2024Yes, this does taste like lemonade, but there’s almost something tropical about it. I can’t quite put my finger on exactly what it is, but certainly from the smell there’s possibly a little bit of mango in there too? Something tangy and citrus-like that’s not lemon anyway. Overall it’s a nice, strong-flavoured and fresh drink.
